New York Fashion Week, som pågår för fullt, har hittills strösslat friskt med tech-influenser både på och utanför catwalken. Zac Posen och Made With Code, initiativet som vill inspirera unga tjejer att börja programmera, visade upp en LED-klänning med-designad av 22-åriga Maddy Maxey. Sedan var det ju Ralph Lauren som sände sin show live till Londons flanörer via Periscope, och förstås, modeveckans sponsor Intel som bevakar en del av showerna med drönare.
Men mest spektakulärt hittills är förstås Chromats Adrenaline Dress, med-designad av Francis Bitonti som gjorde Dita Von Teeses berömda 3D-printade klänning. Adrenaline Dress bygger på ungefär samma idé som Anouk Wipprechts Spider Dress, då den reagerar på bärarens stressnivåer genom att sprida de 3D-printade vingarna som är monterade på ryggen.

Lots of tech at New York Fashion Week
New York Fashion Week, that’s going on at the moment, have so far sprinkled tech influences all over the place. Zac Posen and Made With Code, the initiative that wants to inspire girls to start programming, showed a LED dress co-designed with 22 year old Maddy Maxey. And then there was Ralph Lauren who live broadcasted his show to the London pedestrians via Periscope and of course NYFW sponsor Intel who’s covering a lot of the shows using drones.
Most spectacular so far though, has to be Chromat’s Adrenaline Dress, co-designed with Francis Bitonti who made Dita Von Teeses famous 3D-printed dress. Adrenaline Dress builds on basically the same idea as Anouk Wipprechts Spider Dress, reacting to the wearer’s stress levels by spreading the 3D-printed wings on the back of the dress.
